Many people with diabetes use dietary supplements to manage the disease. However, there are many concerns about these products which are not required to meet stringent efficiency and safety requirements of the Federal Drug Administration. One professional source lists the following concerns: 1. potential side effects 2. drug interactions 3. variability between different brands of products 4. lack of standardardization between and amoung products 5. Possibility of contamination 6. Label may not include all the ingredients 7. May cause delay in using recognized and approved treatments 8. Additional cost (many are more expensive than prescription drugs) Glucotor is a combination supplement containing nopal, konjac, mannan, aymnema, sylvestre, fenugreek, cinnuli, and bitter melon (product contents may differ between brands). Several of these ingredients have been studied or are being studied for their effects on diabetes. Most are safe if taken in food form, but the safety profile is not complete or unclear when taken in pill form. There is insufficient research to recommend any of these products. Bitter melon, banaba and bitter melon may cause low blood sugar reactions if taken with glipizide. Bitter melon may cause gastrointestinal discomfort, coma, anemia and fetal miscarriage Basic points to consider when taking supplements is to consult with your healthcare provider first, understand that they may interfere with other drugs that you are taking, and may cause problems during surgery. Also, report any side effects, look for products with good manufacturing practices, and contact the manufacturor for information. Most of all, monitor your blood sugar levels carefully whenever starting a new medication, supplement or herbal. Congratulations in taking a real active step in your diabetes management, but please be careful. Let me know how you make out. Good luck.

First off there is no cure for type 2 diabetes. There is control of it but if you stop your diet and exercise program the diabetes will come on back. Please dont be fooled into thinking these so called products can cure diabetes, I have tried every natural cure or product that there is, they are a money maker for the company and a loser for the customer.
