Hi drountree,

There are many dietary factors that can contribute to excess gas.

However, if your question is related to your diabetes medications, the most common oral diabetes medication that may contribute to the gas issue you are presenting with is metformin.

Metformin generally should be taken with a meal whether you are taking it once or three times per day. Metformin is sometimes tolerated better at the 500 mg dose versus the 1,000 mg dose.

If you think the gas is related to a dietary issue I would suggest you keep a list of the foods that you think are triggering the gas and share it with your doctor.
