Hello Dianagriznerz: Regarding the "very dry skin", one of the main problems occurring from neuropathy, impairment to normal nerve functions. Suggestion for treatment might include: * mild bath, shower soaps, superfatted soap such as Cataphil, Dove or Vanicream, (or consult with your local pharmacist or where you receive your meter and strips from-they might offer samples), *Pat your skin dry vs. wipe after bathing, *Apply a heavy water-in-oil moisturizer, not a light 'disappearing' cream that contains mostly water. *Assure dryness, examine your legs and feet for any redness daily, continue to monitor with your Endocrinologist, *At any doctor's visit, HE/SHE should want to "SEE" your feet and legs, *Always were protective footwear!!! Hope this was helpful. Please continue to consult with dLife.

I am going to ask a pharmacist for recommendations for sure. My life partner has neuropathy and a close friend also has that and they both have been diabetics over 30 years. Their feet and calves are discolored and my partners peels off in flakes. He calls it his alligator skin. He had advised me not to put lotion between his toes. Guess that makes a problem too of some kind. I am very sympathic because I know what you are going through. Sally
