Uncontrolled diabetes may lead to a condition known as erectile dysfunction or damage to the nerves that stimulate the penis. As a result of these two conditions it is possible you may not be able experience an ejaculation. As elevated blood glucose levels affect blood vessels and nerves throughout the body this may be affecting your ability to perform sexually. This is a very common complication of diabetes. Improving blood glucose control may reverse this complication. It is important that you discuss these sexual issues with your health care provider as it may be necessary to determine the cause of the problem. There are some treatments that are helpful for erectile dysfunction and will allow you to have normal sexual activity. If you primary care physician cannot offer any assistance ask for a referral to a urologist specializing in erectile dysfunction.
