"How to make veggies taste good on a low salt, fat and carb diet"

I used to eat a lot of veggies but the way I helped them go down was with butter and salt. Not a lot but enough for flavor to change a bit. Well, for my heart the butter and salt go away and for the diabetes the sweet ideas need to fade so what can I do to make the veggies have good taste? Low or no fat cheese still is high in sodium.

You might even take some inspiration from the First Lady, Michelle Obama and grow your own vegetable garden. As she says, garden fresh vegetables taste best. Bon appetit!

At first, I had the same problem. NOTHING tasted good. I kept this up for about a month, finally I ate just one potato chip and it like to have blown the top of my head off. It was like I had dumped the whole box of salt in my mouth. That told me just how much salt I was desensitized to, so I started using beef, chicken, pork, fish, and vegetable broths (defatted of course) to cook stuff in. I now use a BUNCH of garlic, onion, herbs, spices, Mrs. Dash, and other things to take the place of salt and MSG that I used to use. As for the fats being a no-no. I use Olive oil. I also use just a tiny bit of butter in some things BUT I only do this occasionally and it's been found that butter is better for you than margarine. Not much better, but better. Check it out on the web if you don't believe me. As for the carbs, there is the glycemic index that you should check out. You can check that out on this web site. I have and I've learned a lot from it. Hang in there. If it was easy, EVERYONE would want to do it!

I steam all of my vegetables,I add butter when needed & salt when needed. I only salt my fresh green beans.Steamed veggies are very flavorful, they are crunchy which I like also.
