Creatine is a component of proteins, naturally found in fish, meats or cheese. Although supplementing with creatine may not pose harmful effects in most healthy individuals, some may not see any benefits of supplementation at all. One of the reported side effects of creatine supplementation is severe leg cramps. Creatine naturally helps promote muscle mass by helping the release of energy in the muscle. As a dietitian, I always prefer the natural sources of these compounds, since we don't know the full long term effects of these commercially available supplements. As far as the interaction with your meds, I don't believe there is any. However, if you do choose to take it, I would consult the bottom websites to learn more about it. Also consult with your pharmacist for more info, and monitor your BG more closely to see if there is any effect on them.
