"I have had procedures to remove Kidney stones from both kidneys,gall bladder removed, pre-diabetic taking meds, high bp,ulcers. Can it affect #'s "

taking Benicar HCT,Tricor,Cimetidine,Doxazosin and checking my BS 3x a day. It gets as low as 45 and as high as 145. This is part 2 to my original question.

You did not mention if you were taking medication for diabetes. The meds you did list should not cause low blood sugar. A 45 is a low blood sugar. None of your meds should cause an significant increase in blood sugar either. I am concerned because 45 is too low and 145 is a little higher than recommended. Stress from illness usually DOES elevate blood sugar levels. You need more info than we can answer here. Please ask your doctor to see a Certified Diabetes Educator or to be be enrolled in a diabetes education program. These resources can help you learn how to manage your blood sugar levels, how to prevent and treat highs and lows and what to do about your blood glucose test results. Always notify your doctor of blood sugar results under 50 or if you have symptoms of low blood sugar more than twice a week. Also find out exactly what glucose range is best for you. If your blood sugar result is above or below this range for more than 3 days and you can't figure out why notify your physician.
