Dear saritajones

In reading the information you provided about your diabetes, it appears you have many health problems. I don’t know if you are seeing an endocrinologist and a certified diabetes educator but if you are not I would recommend you request a referral to both from your primary care provider. It is very important to keep blood glucose levels in good control in order to prevent complications. If your fasting blood glucose levels are in the 300-400 range every day, you will not feel well and may affect your other health problems. Managing diabetes takes effort but that effort will pay off in your quality of life. I think you would also benefit from meeting with a dietitian to help you understand how foods may affect your diabetes as well as some of your other health issues. Education and understanding how your medications, food intake and physical activity affect your blood sugar may improve your control. I encourage you to keep working toward improved control.

Ok first off there are several issues we dont know about. Have you limited your carb intake. Are you able to walk to get some excercise. It is possible several of your other meds are causing your bs to go up. Your taking 300 units of a long acting insulin but what I would call a lower dose of fast acting insulin. You know that your bs are way out of control. I am sure your doctor is aware of these levels and if not they need to know now. If you can give a bit more information we might be able to help you. I know high bs but that was 23 yrs ago before I figured out the carb thing on my own. Sorry to many cde push to many carbs and that is my view. Please take care of yourself these sound like serious issues you are dealing with.
