"I am 50 yrs old with type 2 for the last 2 yrs.Diabetes under control and I have Syringomyelia. Sex desires are high. but no erection."

My mother have diabetes. I am from from Asia. My Endocrine doctor says donot take any supplements for low testosterone, I use to take once a month Inj. and Viagra since 2000 but didnot take since 2006, since found syringomyelia. No sex since 2006.Now only Viagra does not help for erection.

Diabetes has complications of neuropathy that can effect a man's ability to have an erection, Also the diagnosis of Syringomelia (cavities in Spinal Cord filled with spinal fluid) lists impaired sexuel function as a symptom. You do not list any of your medications to see if they have side effects of sexuel impairment.

I would recommend that you see a neurologist and get an opinion from that specialist concerning the sexuel impairment. Be sure that both the endocrinologist and the neurologist discuss and agree with a treatment you can live with.
