As a Life Insurance expert specializing in insurance and investment products specifically for Diabetics, I can say that some of what has been said is true. However, We get diabetics coverage all the time. On many ocassions, they get a preferred and standard rating. You have to know what companies do what is called Clinical underwriting. This is a more specific type of qualifying you for the coverage. The success rate for placement is much higher. Good Luck!

Sorry to say it is legal. Its all about underwriting in the insurance business. If they think you are a high risk, and past studies show diabetics are they have a right to decline the application. There are hundreds of insurance companies out there, even if they do approve you most likely you will have a rated policy which means you pay more for being diabetic. Life isnt fair at all, if that fails try some of these approve no matter what policies you see advertised on tv. There is a 2 yr limited benefit period then your fully covered for the policy face value. I hope this helps answer the question and again it isnt fair but it is the way business is done. Diabetics die sooner and insurance companies know it.
