Yes, there are medications available to treat erectile dysfunction caused by diabetes. You should discuss with your doctor the cause of your erectile dysfunction; he may do some additional tests or prescribe one of the erectile dysfunction medications providing you don’t have any contraindications. If you are taking nitrates or nitroglycerin these medications are not recommended as they may cause your blood pressure to drop. It is important to talk with your doctor and pharmacist to determine if these medications will interfere with any of the present medications you are taking.

If the medication is not effective you may ask for a referral to a specialist who may be able to offer other options that will allow you to engage in an active sex life.
