I have lost a total of 62 lbs, and in the last week I have lost 6 lbs from the injection. I weigh about 99 lbs and am 5'4". I am starting to get scared, I really need to put on some weight... I take 1.8 Victoza and 1000 mg metformin daily. My doc has added 6 mgs of Glimepride. What foods can I eat that will not raise my sugar but can help with weight gain?

Hello,

Thanks for asking dLife.

Gaining weight can be challenging. Gradually increase your calorie intake should help with weight gain. Consider calorie-rich foods that are low in carbohydrates: lean proteins and healthful fats. These foods include meats, poutlry, fish, nuts, and seeds.

I recommend that you talk with a registered dietitian about establishing a personal meal and exercise plan to help control your blood glucose (sugar) levels. He or she can also tell you how best to incorporate healthful calorie-rich foods into your meal plan without increasing your blood glucose levels.

In the meantime, read up on carbohydrate counting!

Take care.
