type 1 for 49 yrs and on pump since 1996, switch sites each time and use as many alternate sites as I can, hips, buttocks, arms don't work. I hate to have to go back on shots but am running out of places due to I guess scar tissue?

Dear Scooter8209:

Before you give up and resort to injections, are you using as much of your abdomen as possible? If you switch from QuickSets to Silhouettes, or in other brands, from 90 degree angle to needles you can place at your desired depth and angle, you can use your upper abdomen. I also like to use my thigh - staying as far to the outer side as possible where there is still plenty of fat, but upward to a position that I won't find myself lying on it when asleep. I hope this is helpful. I've heard of some using breast tissue and inner thigh - but I really CAN'T advise that.
