"There is a product called Supple which is a drink. This product claims to lower blood sugar. Is this product safe for type 2 diabetics."
Asked By: mcgraw

Background Info Hide
Diagnosed as type 2 diabetic in April. I've lost 54 pounds thus far but my numbers are not always level where I would like them. I walk the track 2 miles per day and am eating like a bird in order to keep the numbers low. I take metformin 2000mg per day.

Hello,

Thanks for asking dLife.

Supple is a drink that contains a combination of Glucosamine, Chondroitin, Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM). It also contains a few vitamins and minerals. The website claims that the product helps to relieve joint pain for people with arthritis.

There is no scientific evidence that that the ingredients in this drink will lower blood glucose (sugar) levels. The nutrition label indicates that one serving contains 6 grams of carbohydrate and 30 calories. Frequent finger sticks would tell you how your blood glucose responds to the drink.

Supple is a dietary supplement. Do keep in mind that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not strictly regulate dietary supplements. There is no guarantee of strength, purity or safety of products, and the effects may vary.

Take care.
