Hello Brent_S; Thank you for consulting with dLife.com, and taking control of a very strong habit, smoking, best move to improving your total health with diabetes. I must applaud your decision and encourage you to keep up the efforts to stopping smoking! I have included several links below as reference for developing a strategic plan of success.

You inquire of the impact of smokeless tobacco on diabetes, is it the e-cigarette? While regular cigarettes burn tobacco, e-cigarettes turn nicotine into vapor. Other chemicals in the product's plastic cartridges are also vaporized into an aerosol when they're heated. Though e-cigarettes don't emit 'all' the dangerous toxins produced by burning tobacco, little is known about the nature of the chemicals that are breathed in by e-cigarette users, (still under investigation, although, it could be a weaning component to cessation). Other tobacco containing products have NOT been proven as safe alternatives to cigarettes or effective modalities for treating tobacco use dependence. Suck on an e-cigarette and it produces a cloud of nicotine carrying vapor with none of the toxic by-products of burning tobacco. Though e-cigarettes don't emit the dangerous toxins produced by burning tobacco, little is known about the nature of the chemicals that are breathed in by e-cigarette users. Click here to read more.
