Hello, If your doctor diagnosed you with diabetes, then it would be considered permanent. Diagnosis of diabetes requires two blood glucose readings on two separate days. The blood glucose readings must be 126 mg/dL. or higher. Diabetes do not always have to run in families. Changes in your vision could be caused by high blood glucose, as well as other causes. Poorly controlled diabetes can also contribute to heart problems. Since you already have heart problems, it would be beneficial for you to get your blood glucose level within target range. Talk with your doctor about what your diabetes treatment plan. The number 10.6 could possibly be your hemoglobin A1c, a measure of average blood glucose level. This number indicates that your blood glucose level is very high and you need to take immediate action to control your diabetes. Ask your doctor for a referral for diabetes education. You can learn more about how to manage your diabetes. The diabetes educators can help you establish a diet and exercise plan to control your blood glucose levels. Take care.
