Premarin cream can be used to treat the “symptom” of vaginal dryness, but the cause of vaginal dryness is much more complex, involving the balance of several hormones in the body. An approach which may be more helpful is consulting with a Health Care Professional who is experienced in the use of Natural “Bio-identical” Hormone Replacement Therapy, who can assess your wife’s hormonal balance and needs, and recommend the formulation of individualized hormone replacement therapy.

My wife has had excellent results with "Replens," a vaginal cream that helps dryness and other effects of menopause. (While not diabetic, she had a hysterectomy for ovarian cancer that was responsive to estrogen and progesterin(sp?), so that hormone replacement was precluded in her case.) Replens is over-the-counter, applied twice a week. KY jelly used as needed for intercourse is also a big help.
