Sometimes it is easier for a Doctors to shrug off answers to questions they do not care to pursue than to give useful medical advice, and in your case, it does not sound as though your GYN did his homework in helping identify probable cause for your concern. Libido is often affected by Menopause as Estrogen, Progesterone, and Androgen levels decrease, and hormone replacement with use of Bio-identical Hormones is often helpful. Lab values which are useful in evaluation of your symptoms include Estrogen, Testosterone, and Progesterone. Cheers to you in your pursuit of life and happiness!

Dear jdreamz, Thanks for your question. Diabetes can effect sexual function in both men and women. If your physician is not willing to work with you to attempt to alleviate your symptoms, I would look for another physician. I don't think its in your head. I think it is a very real side effect of having diabetes. Don't give up on finding some help.
