Diabetic Neuropathy Costs Billions Per Year in Lost Work Time

Digg This! | Send to Newsvine | Add to del.icio.usOctober 5, 2007 (Newswise) - A recent study in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine finds that workers who have diabetes with neuropathic symptoms such as tingling in feet or hands lose the equivalent of 1.4 hours a week or $3.65 billion per year in health-related lost productive time.
Dr. Walter "Buzz" Stewart of the Geisinger Center for Health Research in Danville, Pa. can discuss the study's implications for the care of diabetic patients and for the workplace.

I have been a diabetic for about 15 years. i am on insulin and metforum..It is getting worse.I am having alot of pain in my feet ,just below the toes. It keeps me awake at night and unable to walk during the day.Is there any kind of medication out there for this pain also they get very inflamed.My Dr.won't give any antiinflamitory pills because it'sd on the liver please help me.
