Lately, I've been getting symptoms like I'm going Hypo (FAST) and feel like I'm going to pass out. When I check my glucose, I'm rarely below 110. Usually in the 110-130 range.

These symptoms usually only happen when I am at work. I have an extremely stressful job as a Clinical Scientist (Lab Rat...yea, I do all the blood work).

When these symptoms appear, I act immediately and go take a break. After I get some food/water in me, I perk back to normal after about 15 minutes or so.

Why I'm I suddenly getting these Hypoglycemic symptoms when I am not Hypoglycemic ?

katmandu,

This may be part of the answer, but there seems to be some problem with the rate at which your are dropping. How high were you before or at diagnosis? If your are consistently higher than 160, and drop rapidly, you can feel like you are hypo. There may be other answers as well - just my thoughts.

The symtoms do seem to come on when I'm under duress.

They also seem to appear more often after drinking McDonald's coffee. When I drink coffee from other sources, I don't get these symptoms.

I rarely drink more than (1) cup of coffee per day.

There are other things that can cause those symptoms.
1) Low blood pressure
2) Low pulse rate
3) Heart problems
4) Irritation of the Vagus nerve,(Which can cause the first two)

Yep,like me you I had never heard of that last one,(Google for more info). After going through several months of tests to try and pinpoint the cause of my fainting spells, Vagus nerve irritation was determined to be the cause. I'm very glad that I resisted the cardiologists suggestion to have a Angioplasty ,(he was also relived that he did not do an un-necessary procedure. At the time he suspected blockage of an artery feeding the bottom of the heart.
Unfortunately there isn't much that can be done medically to improve the irritation. There are some things that might help in certain patients. In my case not bending backwards so the torso was lower that the legs was one thing to avoid. Staying hydrated with essential electrolytes was another.

One thing that did pop up during one of these episodes was my Blood pressure.

I was at work and feeling the symptoms coming on fast. Before I could take a break and eat, I had a nasty confrontation with an insane co-worker. I had to excuse myself from this exchange as I felt I was about to fall on my face. Literally.

I went immediatly to Employee Health. My BP was 152/94!

Up until this point, I have never been diagnosted with High Blood pressure.

May be obvious, but I'm wondering if the AM Coffee and not eating enough protein before work is exasperating these symptoms.

I am not diabetic and not hypo and was also having these symptoms. Turns out I suffer from Super Ventricular Tachycardia (or a super fast heartbeat) it is an intermediate thing. It was found out accidentally during a test for my chronic headaches. I would definitely have this checked out. Like the other people say it could be any number of things. You should talk to your doctor.
