PattiM, Jamie could not have said it better. Kids make ultimately make thier own decisions in life and as parents that can be hard to take. But because you did take action, they turned out ok. (((HUGS))) Kids dont come with owners manuals, damn it. And some are harder to raise than others... but you obviously lived up to your own family's challenges and because you did not bury your head in the sand and dealt with it, they came out ok!
Jamie, poor Connor! I remember Cole's first heartache. It is hard on a mother's heart. Hugs to you and pass it on to Connor without him knowing... I'm so glad you're posting again. I swear that some days you feel like a bandaid on a hurting heart. (((HUGS))) You were missed! I hope things are going ok for you and that school is not stressing you out too bad. I really respect you for that. Actually, I really respect you for a lot of things. And we all happen to love you and YOUR family too! ((((more hugs)))
Tony, dont hurt yourself punching that ol punching bag.
So where did Alan go??? Isnt he in bed now???
Irene, so glad you're healing. I am in shock that you had the swine flu! Poor thing!!! (((HUGS))) I'm really happy for you and Ed that Starla moved out. You can reclaim your house and your life now. And your AC unit.
I hope Pegster is feeling better.... poor thing...
Jude, as always, thanks for the cute kittehs. I liked the one who ate the pumpkin. BTW, my brother told me that he's planning a trip to MORRO BAY to climb! How cool is that??? I told him about you and told him I'm wickid jealous that he gets to go there. Its some sort of climbing competition with a bunch of his buddies.
So, The economy is so bad, the last time some said to me, "a penny for your thoughts" I told them every thing I was thinking, and then charged them a dollar.

Hi. Just stopping in briefly. I'm really tired. They have a new system at work that I hate. Instead of a person deciding if they can let you go home early, it's all done by computer, which analyzes the call volume and the staffing and determines if anyone can leave early. It seems it's not going to let ANYONE go so I have been working full days and I'm really not up to this yet!
I didn't read the thread about the little girl who was diagnosed and needs an aide, but I learned a long time ago to not make judgements. You rarely know the WHOLE story unless you are closely involved so have no right to judge. Same goes for other people's parenting. What you SEE publicly is just a small slice of the whole picture.
Dave, I bet you are really going to enjoy the internet DJ thing! Tony was a DJ and News Director on various radio stations for many years. Sooner or later he always butted heads with the Station Manager about 'play lists'. He really likes doing the internet DJ thing because he can play whatever he wants to play! The internet 'radio' isn't regulated by FCC and isn't owned by the corporations who only seem to want to play 'Top Ten' songs. Tony is Music Director for HosstheBoss.com, which means he is in charge of finding the music they play. They don't pay royalties so have to have permission from the artists to play their music. He chooses alot of the old standard Southern Rock, Red Dirt, and Alternative Country music and has gotten permission from some big names, but his real love is finding new up-and-coming groups, giving them airplay and introducing them to a new fan base. There is no money in it (maybe someday!) but Tony really enjoys it and that is worth more than money!
Off for a shower and bed. Tony fixed some absolutely fantastic burgers for dinner and I ate too much! Which added to my sleepiness so it's early bedtime for me!

I'm glad you didnt get wacked by the bag coming back atcha Tony! I keep picturing you like Rocky and running up the stairs in your gray sweats and knit cap.
Peg, I'm sorry they're working you so much. (((HUGS))) I know you're not really up to it yet, and this just might set you back again. And life's experiences have taught me that often it is those who dont have any kids of their own who think they are the best parents in the world. They have all the opinions, all the judgement and all the answers. Ppppphhhhttttttt!!!!! I've also learned that kids ultimately make up their own minds. And while environment and upbringing DOES count, I know that some really great, and determined kids can still come out of less than perfect homes... and sadly, sometimes really not so great kids can still come out of good homes despite the parents best efforts. What we do as parents DOES have a huge impact on our childrens lives.... we can lead them to the water, but it is their decision whether or not to drink, so to speak. My son is a good person, but makes dumb decisions. It drives me nuts. One of these days, after he's learned the hard way, he'll smarten up and start listening more often, to his mamma. I'm on his side, after all, and I want only what is beneficial to him. I want his life to be happy, and easier than it was for me. Hmmmm, back in my younger days, I didnt listen much to my parents either and I always thought to myself, ( blah blah blah, they dont know what they're talking about, they dont understand. ) Looking back now, I realize that I was afraid in my heart that they were right, I just wanted to believe something diffent. His life seems to be going ok, and he IS listening to me more. But in matters of the heart, he has to find out for himself and travel that hard road. Like we all do. So though I've planted the subtle idea in him to be cautious, I'm not saying what I know he does not want to hear, for now. He's in love. But I really dont see that she is. Time will tell.
Ok, time for another coffee.... Dave, the other day, we were talking about Colin's Mom. I told Colin what you advised me about not interfering and how your ex wives tried to make you call your mom, etc.... Colin said, "You know I like that Dave from Canada more and more all the time." You and he could hang out if we lived closer.
Ok, where's Missy???? Missy aint here. Come on out, you!
Everyone, hugs and "good mornings" to you all.
