I measured my waist and was horrified to see 44". No more evening binges. I've gone back to stomach crunches. I have increased my strength training, using higher weights. I do aerobics 6 times a week, walking and water aerobics. Now that the weather is a little cooler I will add 2m walks before work. What is everyone doing?

For my exercise I mostly walk. I do interval walking at least three times a week. I also do sit-ups using the balance ball-helps protect my back which I broke as a teenager.

I find for ME, that the best exercise is walking. It burns fat, esp. belly fat and those places on my rear that need to lose.

and, the best thing about walking, is I DO it. (Even when I don't want to....)

I've been going to Curves 3-5 times a week and now I've added a few little things in addition to that. I have to go up and down the stairs at work several times a day and now instead of walking up and down I jog up and down (I got the idea from V's interval training). I've also added walking or cardio videos at home a few times a week.

I was at at a plateau with my weight and this pushed me into losing again. Sadly, no belly fat has come off though. 3 lbs but not much of it from my waist or abdomen as far as I can tell. I just had my monthly measurement at Curves.

They measure your bust, waist, tummy, hips (and butt), upper arm, and thigh. Every month we joke that I won't lose any more weight from my limbs or hips because they're non-existant compared to the rest of me. I have to start losing from my middle sometime, right?! And every month I lose the teeniest bit from my waist and tummy and a whole lot from my hips (and butt) and legs. It's pretty funny, except that I know that the weight that is the most dangerous to my health is the weight that isn't coming off.

I'm having trouble targeting my weight loss to my middle, but I figure if I keep on going it will come off eventually. It is coming off, just slower than it is on the rest of my body.

This month I was shooting for a total loss of 80 lbs and 50 inches. I got 79 lbs and 49.75 inches. So close! It's still good, though. I'll get there this month. :)

I don't get it. Where's the information of what we're supposed to be doing? How long does this "challenge" run?

The information is on the first page. We are going until Oct 13th Columbus day and the goal is to lose 6 pounds or 1 inch. (I know it sounds small, but I think that small 'snail' steps are doable and encouraging. At 1-2 pounds a week, if you start now, you can do it-or at least close!).

As to how you wish to achieve that goal, well, each to his own. If there is a specific path you wish to choose, we would be happy to advise you. I personally go with my nutritionist guidelines and consentrate on my carbs, fats, and fiber. I do not count calories. From my journaling, it appears it takes care of itself.

I do recommend that all begin by writing down everything they eat and carefully measure it out. Sometimes, when you do that, you will see glaring points in which to consentrate your efforts on....

In addition, we were challenged to increase our exercise amount. If you do not exercise, I encourage you to begin. Start slow to avoid injury, and check with your physician to be sure that your exercise program is right for you. We will be more than happy to assist in your endeavor if needed.

If you have specific questions, we will be happy to help out.

Measured today! I am almost there! I am so excited. The weight is moving slow, but the inch is coming off. (I know muscle weighs more than fat, so I am assuming the fat is being transformed) I started a new exercise for the stomach to get some of the lower muscles. Leg lifts. My son, the althelete recommended that to me to help with the lower abs. He gave me an exercise the last time for the tummy challenge, and I lost an inch, so I figured, I would ask him again. It seems to be working. (BTW, I still do my walking, interval, and the other exercises, this is just one new one added to get the muscles a little more toned). I am seeing results in my pant's size and how clothes are fitting.

Hope everyone else is going well. Please share. I would love to hear how you all are going.

I just measured and I have lost 1" at my waist. Hooray! This change along with this blog has given me the desire to continue. I have not weighed myself. I am going to concentrate on my waist measurement and my morning glucose reading. I have increased my upper body weight work and crunches. Back to Pilates Mon.

Let's keep going.
