About Lara Rondinelli, RD, LDN, CDE

Lara Rondinelli-Hamilton RD, LDN, CDE is the co-author of Healthy Calendar Diabetic Cooking, Gluten-Free Recipes for People with Diabetes, as well as The Healthy Carb Diabetes Cookbook (American Diabetes Association, 2013, 2012 and 2008). Lara has been featured nationwide on various television and radio programs promoting healthy eating, cooking, and meal planning. As a dietitian and diabetes educator, she has counseled people with diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure, and for weight loss and general wellness. She has a special interest in celiac disease as she was biopsy-diagnosed with it in 2007. Lara has been involved with the American Diabetes Association diabetes camps, working as lead dietitian for the Triangle D camp in Illinois. Lara currently works as a Certified Diabetes Educator at DuPage Medical Group. Lara writes on food and diet, and dishes up healthy recipes for the dLife community in her monthly column, "Everyday Eating."

I had a work dinner last night with some leadership from my office. I always find diabetes etiquette at these things to be kind of tricky. It was a four course meal, with salad, soup, entree' and dessert and coffee. There was also a selection of gluten free and non-gluten free dinner rolls. I felt way too full of questions for waitress... "Could I get my dressing on the side? How much sugar is in it?" A course later...
