I feel like I've been getting sick for about a week now. I was just feeling "off" after last week's finals. I decided it was due to lack of a balanced schedule, the added stress, and being a woman. So I generally ignored it, going on with my daily health routines.

But Sunday, I woke up with that "blah" feeling. It's worse than "off" because you really do feel sick, but not sick enough to just curl up in bed. My blood sugars were a little elevated. I felt like I might be getting a urinary tract infection (figuring it was from my crazy numbers in the last month) or being graced with "that time of the month."

Throughout Sunday, my jaw had been giving me trouble as well. I haven't had my wisdom teeth out yet, so this didn't seem too strange. My bottom molars hurt when I chewed and my lymph nodes seemed sore and slightly swollen. I decided to wait to see what happened and call the dentist.

Yet nothing really developed. I increased my water intake to flush my system and watched my rising blood sugars continue to rise. By Monday, I was feeling normal, maybe even "good." No pain, no swollen lymph nodes, and no other symptoms.

My friend came in for dinner on Monday night, so we celebrated with a fairly heavy meal and dessert (cheesecake, of course!) I knew I'd eaten too much, but that didn't explain the pain in my lower abdomen. Within half an hour, I was back to normal and assumed it had to be what I'd eaten.

Tuesday and Wednesday didn't prove to be much better. I slept through both days after I made it home from my class and a few errands. Even after all that sleep, I was still fatigued and just feeling abnormal.

Sadly, my blood sugars stayed elevated. And my food choices didn't seem to help (you know when you're feeling bad, you just want to eat all the wrong things...well I gave in). My muscles have been sore and weak. The fatigue still hasn't left. Right now, I'm doubling my vitamins, increasing my water intake, and sleeping as much as possible.

I hope that everything will pass by the weekend. Otherwise, I will be headed to the doctor Monday morning. My main concern is an infection right now, since that isn't something that will easily get better if I can't get my blood sugars under control. Maybe an increase in basal rates is necessary as well.
