2010 is going to be a crazy year. It's my last semester here at college, which means that come May I will be a university graduate with a bachelor's degree in Sociology and a minor in Women's & Gender Studies and an emphasis in Health. After that, my life will be completely changed.

I'll be moving from the town I'm currently in...unsure where I'm going at the moment. I'll be settling into a career, most likely. I'll be taking on new responsibilities like car insurance and all my expenses. Everything is going to change.

On top of that, it seems everyone wants to travel this year. One of my oldest friends has asked to do a month long European tour. I'm supposed to visit a friend in Alabama. My dad has mentioned a trip out West to visit my great grandfather. My friend from Ireland is planning a trip to the States and I plan to meet her at one of her stops. And I have my own Mexico trip that I'm trying to squeeze in.

I've spent the last few days thinking over the different travel options that I have. And trying to get a better idea how feasible any of it. I joked with my mom that maybe I should just take the rest of 2010 after graduation to travel. Sure seems like it'd make things easier.

A month in Europe sounds absolutely wonderful. I went to Spain when I was a teenager, but my dream has always been to travel to the other European countries. And a month with a close friend would be fun. But a month away from the States is also a major event for me. Not only does it leave me a little homesick, but I keep thinking of my health and how it changes everything. A month away means travel insurance, extra supplies, getting things in order before I leave, and making sure that my body can handle it.

The other trips aren't so much health-involved. Although it is a lot of travel, which does affect my blood sugar control...it's nothing that I can't adjust and handle. I've taken plenty of trips to Mexico to know my protocol there. And traveling within the States for a few days or a week at a time is essentially a piece of pie.

Right now, my biggest concerns are money and jobs. I'm preparing to apply for jobs in the next month or two, even taking a day trip to a city in North Texas to make sure it'd be a location option for me. So adding all these trips into my plans makes applying for jobs especially difficult...when would I start?

Money is another big issue considering travel is very costly these days. And my college budget isn't so great. Maybe I'll find that money tree that I've heard so much about.

No matter where I end up going or not going in 2010, I'm extremely excited about this year. I'm living each day at a time, striving for the goals that I want in my life. No resolutions, no sudden changes. Just a mindset to keep going like I am...with my ultimate health and well being in mind. And I know that by 2011, I'll be that much closer to those goals.
