I have been determined to not let this year be another 2008. Filled with negative attitudes and depressing thoughts. I know times will be rough but I chose how I react to those things and so far I have been doing pretty good.

But one thing that is a bummer about any new year is the deductibles I have to pay for my prescriptions.

I have insulin for my pump, glucose testing strips, Lisinopril for high blood pressure, and Zetia for cholesterol.

Now I will say that I am thankful that I have insurance. I know many people do not and so I am thankful for that. I will admit that I was a little upset when I found out my rates were jumping from $639.00 a month to $715.00 for my families coverage. Wow!

For people who barely live check to check, that is quite the blow. Still, I am thankful because it could be so much worse.

The one thing that I seem to forget each year is that I have a $150.00 deductible for each family member for prescriptions. I get so used to paying a few bucks throughout the year that I about pass-out when I first order my insulin and have to pay $170.00!

There has not been a year yet that I have not freaked out a little. And my daughter is on medicine for her asthma so that is another one. 600 dollars for the entire family and that always makes for a scary start to the year.

Luckily I did not need my prescriptions until today and I just got paid. We may be broke for the rest of the month but at least I will be alive!

You see, it always works out. Thankfully!

Zetia is the most expensive of anything between the two of us (G takes it). Ugh.
