We are almost two months into 2009, so I'd thought I'd self-asses how my resolutions are coming along. I've been slowly implenting them into my life in the past 7 weeks to avoid giving them up all together. I have to say, I'm liking the changes that I've seen in myself. Of course, there are some that I still need to work on though. So here's the rundown:

1) Exercise more: I haven't started this at all, which I'm greatly disappointed in since it was my top priority. I'm still planning to start jogging two times a week, but haven't found much spare time in the month of February. I'm still looking for a treadmill too. I know exercising will help me lose a few pounds, plus get my blood sugars into range with less need for insulin.

2) Eat healthier: I've seriously been trying on this one! I've kept my weight stable, but haven't noticed any weight changes. I've cut out fast food almost all together (only getting healthy alternatives 1 to 2 times a week). I'm also eating A LOT more fruit, which I love. I'd love to go less processed, but right now...I just don't have the time.

3) Read more: I haven't started this at all. Every book is still sitting on my shelf just staring at me, with sad, puppy dog eyes. With school, I'm reading articles and books galore, so reading for leisure is still on the back burner. I'm hoping over Spring Break, I can read at least two books on that shelf.

4) Log my blood sugars: I started this about 3 weeks ago and have done quite well. Since I started logging, my averages are down considerably. I love that one simple regimen can have such a great affect on my blood sugars.

5) Organize my life: I'm still working on this one, although I did give my apartment a big clean sweep when I moved back in for the semester. My pantry and kitchen are much more organized. My bathroom is as well. The only thing left is my desk...oh the joys of what I might find!

6) Recycle and reuse: I'm laughing at this one. I have not done one thing to recycle. Matter of fact, I just took out the trash and I'm sure that there were syringes or insulin bottles or something in there that need better disposal. Maybe in April, I'll start this one. Right now, I don't even have an interest.

7) Budget for my health: I haven't kept track of what I'm spending, but I have created better systems to tackle the tricky medical bills. I still have some insurance woes to take care of, but I'm hopeful that someone will want to get them settled besides me.

8) Blog more: I've slowly gotten more in tune with this. Echoes is doing quite busy and bustling. I've lacked on my blogs here since I'm incredibly busy (especially these last 3 weeks) with school and work. But hopefully, in the next few months I'll get this settled as well.

9) Photograph my life more: This one hasn't taken a priority in my life quite yet. During school, I really don't have much opportunity to photograph things. Over Spring Break and hopefully the summer, I should have some great opportunities. Until then, my life is forever locked into the camera called my brain.

I'm quite impressed with myself that I still have the fervor to keep these up and want to start the ones that I haven't given priority. I'd really like to have them all started by April. By March, I at least want to be exercising more and blogging more. Those are two things that really keep me on track and less stressed. And less stress equals more time to do the fun things on this resolution list!
