i'm riding on the screen...

I woke up at 383 today. To say the least, I'm angry. I have a reason as to why it was so high, but it still doesn't make complete sense. I ate a late high-carb meal last night (back to college life) and thought I'd judged my carbs correctly. I actually figured to wake up low. But obviously, diabetes had another plan in store for me.

Since I'm back at school, I'm struggling to get my new schedule to coordinate with my diabetes. Not only is my activity increased, but also several of my classes skip right over lunchtime. They also let out in the late afternoon, so my lunch is pushed back into dinner. So then dinner is pushed back to ten or eleven at night (hence, the late meal last night).

I know that my basals will need to be changed, but I haven't quite figured out where or when. It's looking like I might need to pattern basal on alternating days, which is particularly frustrating. I wish that there was a way to plug in a set Monday/Wednesday/Friday basal and a set Tuesday/Thursday basal that automatically switches on those days.

Getting back into the schedule of working out has been frustrating as well. I've been so busy with everything else that I've only made it to the gym twice this week, cutting out my usual cardio all together. Luckily, it hasn't made me run high. I'm trying to set a schedule by next week that I can easily incorporate into my classes and social life.

I've kept up with logging all my blood sugars, even though I'm checking them less. Eight to ten times a day instead of twelve. I know this is just a part of adjusting to the schedule as well since I can't seem to find the right times to test. I'm testing at random times, therefore showing no true patterns.

I feel so overwhelmed with everything at the moment that I can't seem to set a diabetes plan in place. I've decided to at least wear my continuous glucose monitor next week to give me a closer look at those patterns. Maybe there is a way I can keep one basal throughout the week, instead of having to alternate with my class schedule.

Right now, I'm just hoping to get the 383 down.
