Today, Monday, I start a new job. To supplement my personal training business and this blogging job, I have decided to do some work landscaping. I love to work outside. I have done some work with this company before. When I was 18, my good friend and I worked there for a summer job. It was very hard and physically taxing work. I spent a lot of 8 hour shifts shoveling dirt, rocks, and mulch. A lot of time was spent bending over or on my knees planting, sweating, and working with my hands and body.

Back in the day, when I was on 70/30 insulin, I had a very hard time balancing my job and my blood sugars. I went to work each day, not really knowing what type of labor I would be performing. I packed a large cooler with snacks galore! However, a lot has changed since the days of being of that pre-mixed 70/30 insulin and snack regiment. Now days as some of you may already know, I am taking about 17 units of Lantus in the morning and then supplementing that with Novolog through out the day.

Actually, I am kind of looking forward to going back and doing some work outside, but I am a little nervous about how my body will react with this new very physically demanding work. I am going to be packing a cooler again and it will still be packed with all sorts of blood sugar combating goodies. Stay tuned to see how my sugars do with some of the new changes.
