I feel a shift taking place in the world today. Its happening as we speak, and I feel it happening within me, on this site and others, before the world. Slowly, more and more people are realizing the power of their minds. The power to be at peace with life and whatever happens in it, the power of the ability to watch our thoughts and to not be affected by them completely. I watched another documentary recently called, “The New Medicine”. It touches on this very point. More and more, people who fall ill to various things are finding the healing benefits of their own thoughts and states of consciousness while enduring the sicknesses their experiencing.
This transformation I speak of is actually not all that new; apparently (according to this video and to history books) it dates back thousands of years. I’m currently not all that educated on the subject, so I want to be careful about what I suggest or say. However, we all probably know about the many alternatives to taking care of oneself during sick time. Many people nowadays are reluctant to ingest any medication at all. Various things I’ve heard suggest that people want to continue to live a “clean” and an “untainted-by-medicine-if-at-all-possible” lifestyle. I for one, live this way. Something in me feels “unnatural” about just popping a pill for a head-ache or common condition. This video, and many things I’ve read and the people that I’ve talked with about this, talk about “going inside” and searching themselves for deeper rooted causes of whatever it is their experiencing.
I think what I am referring to is called “holistic healing”, or “holistic medicine”.
Ever since my journey began as a person with diabetes, I’ve been on the search, both consciously and unconsciously, about different things that would aid in my caring for this disease. I’ve heard probably a thousand different remedies for “curing” diabetes, both types 1 and 2. These magic cures range from mushrooms grown in the wild, to magic herbs and pills that you can buy on the internet. Whatever the case may be, it continues to be interesting and stimulating to me.
Who knows, maybe in a short amount of time, we’ll find that a piece of bark on a rare tree grown on a tropical island in the middle of nowhere holds the key to our cure. Whatever happens, I find a lot of benefit and personal enjoyment out of being as “pure” and as “clean” of any additional medicines - as possible. No matter what, ill continue to be curious, and at peace with what is learned and discovered. And I will be fascinated by what continues to come about on the holistic healing front and the power of “going inside” during ill times.
Thanks for reading, as always, and continuing to live with an open and peaceful, healthy mind.
Namaste, -Andy.

Hello my name is Clint. Person should tell you that I'm an educational psychologist and learning theorist. I'm a therapist and behaviorist. However, I am also a believer in something bigger and better than what we have here. Some people call it God some people call it a higher self some people don't call it anything. Secondly, I was recently diagnosed with type II diabetes. Because I am learning theorist one thing I know how to do is gather information and learn from it.
In light of this I have found some amazing things that I would like to share. Number one DDA diet is recommended as a manifestation of our own sad diet that is the standard American diet. It recommends reducing portions and controlling your weight in such a manner. Previous to my diagnosis I was also an avid steak and potatoes man and drank my pint of rum at least once a week sometimes twice. Since this little wakening has come I have radically changed my dietary habits.
I have become a vegan who leads 70% live food absolutely no meat of any kind or dairy no saturated fat other than coconut oil. My doctor told me upon my initial diagnosis that I had the highest average of 12% it seemed in the year. Recently I went back to see him and he was astounded by the change in my body and I must say in my mind. I could go on and on about this new change in diet, but what I want to assure you is that I am not a New Age you kind of guy. I'm much more just the facts ma'am kind of guy. So when I can tell you is that two months ago my fasting blood sugar was 350. It is now between 85 and hundred. Along with many others I'm experiencing a rapid change in many areas including high blood pressure and 1000 times more clear thinking. A side benefit is that I have lost 20 pounds in two months, and I have never felt like a more food in my whole life. The advocates of this diet including people like Gabriel Cousens, actually tout that we are not just stopping diabetes with this change in diet but actually reversing it. They're also clinical studies that seemed to indicate that this is true that is to say this diet causes a significant increase in insulin receptor sensitivity.
The real purpose of this diet is to increase my sensitivity to spiritual awareness and discovery. I am finding a certain gratitude in being diagnosed with type II diabetes. This new diet provides me with more energy and a certain glow but I haven't had in years. If you are at all interested in the changes that I've made want to know more about the specific diet I can only tell you that there are many books out there about it. Using this diet you can expect a radical change in your use of various types of medications for diabetes. In fact there are some people who have been on insulin for 10 years ago on this diet and within four days just four days go off their insulin. Of course it would be stupid for me to say that everyone is capable of doing this it does demand a certain amount of rigidity. However, not dying with my feet cut off the line screaming for morphine is a big motivator.
I'm wondering if there are any others out there who found such a radical change for radically changing their diet. Anyway write me if you have anything interesting to share or just want to know more. clintdickens@comcast.net
Clint, thanks for the comment man. Very interesting stuff you wrote about. I hope many people see and understand and hopefully look into or try the things you discuss. :) be well. sincerely - andy
