Day three of my Lantus experiment has gone great! I tested again today 2 hours after lunch and my sugar was 135. I was very happy to see that since I am feeling good on my new dose. Today I made sure to carefully watch my carb intake at lunch. I also made sure when I took my shot with an insulin pen that everything went in as it was supposed too. I realized last night, after I had already submitted my blog, that another potential cause of my high sugar could have been that my insulin pen had failed to deliver the dose. Whatever the case, sickness, excess carbs, or delivery error, I am happy to be back on track and moving in the right direction again.

Now on to something else,.

I have talked before about how amazing and wonderful it is to have today's reliable technology and medicines. I feel like I need to mention that again.

I have probably heard it said a thousand times now, "Diabetes is a manageable disease". Although sometimes I have trouble agreeing with that statement, I do feel it is true, and I think that today's diabetes products are to thank for that. How wonderful is it that we have all this stuff at our disposal. Yeah it's ridiculously expensive, very confusing, irritating, and difficult to operate at times, but overall I am thankful. We can live a quality life just like any other person out there. Along with modern day diabetes technology I also think that one of the most important things that we have is our attitudes towards living with this disease.

Our attitudes and our willingness to fight through the hard times make entirely all the difference. There are so many great things out their working for us. It is just a matter of if you choose to see them.

Ok, enough of all the philosophical stuff! It's just that I am happy today and I feel like sharing that with the entire world.

Now lets go get us some good blood sugars!!!

Thanks again. -Andy
