Many of you know that I am and have been on Weight Watchers for a while now. The last time I weighed in I was down 36 pounds. People have asked me if my insulin needs have changed at all but strangely enough, I have not noticed any change. Until now.

First let me explain why I have not weighed in lately. My wife and I attend Saturday morning meetings which occur at 7:00 AM. I don't mind going so early because it allows us to enjoy our weekends to the fullest as opposed to sleeping them away. But on the last Saturday of the year I just felt like sleeping in. Just once. I did and it was wonderful although the next day began an awful cold that lasted through and past the following weekend thus keeping me from weighing in. Then this last weekend we were out of town with family. So it has been a while.

My guess is that since I was sick for a while and usually run high masked my changing need of insulin. That is all I can figure since my home scale says that I have not lost much weight. I have been running very low the past week or so and changed my basal rate a little.

So far this morning my numbers have been good so I may have guessed right although I know a fasting basal rate check it in my future. Do you pump users hate doing this as much as I do? Fasting pretty much means torture to me but when I know I have to do it, I do.

I wish that I could get on a CGM system so I can better understand how certain foods and what exercise does to my blood sugar levels as it happens. That journey should begin soon I hope. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
