Step right up! Step right up! Try your luck at diabetes!

How about you, madam? Care to try your luck?

You, sir! In the red shirt! Care to try your luck at diabetes? Maybe your son would like to give it a shot? 1 child in every 500 is a winner!

Step right up! Step right up! Come see the amazing diabetes boy! Watch him as his blood sugar drops from 250 to 55 in mere minutes! Watch him tremble and sweat and giggle uncontrollably for no apparent reason!

Watch his lips turn white before your very eyes! Watch him drink a juice box. Watch him drink another. Watch him drink a third juice box and three peanut butter crackers while his blood sugar stays miraculously below 60 mg/dl. Watch his parents freak out!

Step right up! Step right up!

Watch his continuous glucose monitor as it flashes 257 with two arrows pointed up. Watch it rise to 338. Watch it rise to 415. Listen as the high alarms sound!

Watch his lips turn white before your very eyes! Watch his cheeks turn pink! Watch him drink a quart of water! Watch him snap at his sister and call her a tushy face! Watch him get a shot in the arm. Watch him get another. Watch him get a third shot in the arm while his blood sugar stays miraculously above 400 mg/dl.

Watch his parents freak out!

Step right up! Step right up!

LOL! Thanks for finding humor in this struggle. I look forward to your posts to let me know I am not insane/alone in my daily battle with this disease in my 9 year old boy!

Amazing that you find a new point of view on this devastating disease!

This made me laugh, however, it really isn't funny! Diabetes is not funny, but you write so very well!

You always make me laugh...and I can see you worry - thank you for making this crazy "freak show (aka diabetes)" funny!!

I know how you feel...But I am the one hearing the story about what was going on with me...My husband deals with the same issues as you and your wife but with me..I've had it for 24yrs. and there isn't any explanation as to why my BS do what they do..I know I'm blessed to have my husband,he looks at me and can tell if something is going on...And our daughter was diagnosed at 13 and they say type 1 is not heredity ,go figure.. I PRAY she doesn't have the complications as I do.I LOVE reading your blogs..May God Bless you and your family..?

sorry the ? mark ,I pressed the wrong key ...LOL I hope they find a cure so your li'l guy doesn't have to go thru all the stuff..

It is indeed a freak show! Thanks guys.
