ADM logoSince November is National Diabetes Awareness month I have been trying to think of ways to raise awareness about this disease so I, too can do my part.
 
Now one thing you should know about me is that, although I am a pretty outgoing guy, I am not one to just walk up to people and strike up a conversation about diabetes. The thought of doing that actually makes me a little light headed. I cannot imagine every doing that.

Throughout my diabetes life, I've developed some bad habits. I'm a perfectionist and hate having them linger over my diabetes. I've decided that I need to break these bad habits if I truly want to excel on my pump and in life. I'm at a point where I realize all the great things I'm looking forward to: establishing a career, starting a family, building my dream home. I don't want to miss one second of my future because I made poor decisions with my diabetes. This is World Diabetes Day, the first annual, and the international community is embracing its message by flying high the striking blue symbol of the disease. The message is about waking up the world to the growing impact of diabetes on our young and old- this year's theme focusing on children and adolescents. The innocent faces of the disease give a hammering reminder of what we are striving for, worldwide awareness, more scientific breakthroughs, and a much needed cure. (READ MORE)
