Each Saturday morning I head over to our local Weight Watchers office to weigh in and attend the meetings. The week was not good for yours truly. I gained and of course was not happy but what made it worse was my attitude all week and frankly for the last several weeks.

I am tired of counting. I feel like the Count on Sesame Street. "9! AH AH AH. 9 Points! AH AH AH! And 27 CARBS! AH AH AH!" (READ MORE)

This last weekend was a busy one. Between soccer, church, and work we were not able to find the time to do our regular Sunday grocery shopping.

So come Monday I knew I would have to pick up lunch instead of bring it with me to work. For the last 3 months I have completely fallen off the Weight Watchers wagon. I have gained some weight and frankly, I am not in the mood to care right now. Life has been a struggle lately and unfortunately my weight loss drew the short straw.

Life is full of simple pleasures.

Today I slept in until 12. I made some coffee. I drank about 4 cups. I had a nice little breakfast. I turned on the tv and actually caught a decent movie. The movie was, "The Broken Trail" with Robert Duval. It was about some good ol' cowboys taking some horses about 800 miles or so through some beautiful country in Wyoming. The movie really hit home with me this morning. I love to be outside. I love that I am country guy and that I am in my element when I am out in the wilderness. I love a good fire and a good meal. Sometimes I am happiest with just a cup of coffee and maybe a smoke if I feel like it.

Bottom line is today I was depressed.

I had a nice breakfast, watched that great movie, drank my coffee, and then tested my sugar.

My blood sugar is currently at 384. I just stare at the number. My mind trying not to fathom what those digits represent. I checked my blood sugar because I wanted to enjoy the cookie that I saved from dinner. Now I stare at this cookie, taunting me, telling me how my life is going to be. It looks so yummy with its million chocolate chips and golden brown hue. But those numbers tell me that my cookie will have to wait. (READ MORE)

Last week was a tough one for me. I was starting to feel really depressed. I know it comes with the D-territory but I cannot stand to feel that way for long. All the comments I received were huge and helped a lot. Luckily, I had a really fantastic weekend that lifted my spirits too and moved me out of the depressed zone I was in.

But something that I do not think has ever happened to me, happened last night. I had a diabetes nightmare and it really scared me. (READ MORE)

Last week I posted about my Insurance company giving me a scare about approving my insulin pump supplies.

Well, using a Minimed insulin pump in Southern California has its advantages since their products are shipped out of Northridge which is about 30 minutes from my house. Almost in my backyard! So my order which was sent via UPS 3-day select arrived at the Simmons house the very next day!

This made my stress level drop tremendously which we all know is good for the diabetes.

So that covers the first part of this post title. Now to the blogging.

I mentioned this insurance situation on my personal blog, where I often rant about my ups and downs with diabetes, and the coolest thing happened. (READ MORE)
