my comments how my diabetes reacted post-delivery.
It was amazing. I was up to 38 units of insulin a day, as well as 2000 mg of Metformin (aka Glucophage). The morning I was scheduled for my c-section (for non-diabetes reasons) I did not take my insulin per instructions. I couldn't eat anyway because of the surgery. My diabetes team wanted me at 110-120 bgl pre-surgery, so I actually had to have a little glucose in my IV drip 2 hours before surgery because I had dropped into the 90's.
I did not need another drop of insulin while in the hospital. I haven't needed it since except for a

Which would you like to hear first? I guess I'll start with the bad news and get my whining out of the way first. The scale is up this week. Granted it's only half a pound, but the frustrating part is I have been working so hard at this. I've been following Weight Watchers faithfully since Thanksgiving and I've only lost about 2 and a half pounds. What's worse is I'm starting to begrudge people at the meeting who lose more than that each week. Selfish, isn't it?
In reviewing my diet, exercise and lifestyle, I'm even more annoyed because I'm eating less food (and healthier food, at that), exercising more, drinking water and even getting more sleep than I had been. But I'm still not losing. What do I need to do? I'm open to all suggestions, except "be patient." I don't do well with patience.

"I want you to walk ahead of me in case I get stopped," I said to The Mr. We were standing in one of the "expert traveler" lines at the security checkpoint at LAX. Although I had been searched twice in my last three air travels, I thought I was free since I had gotten through security the last time without being searched.
It was particularly dark in this part of the airport. I was particularly emotional having dealt with a screaming No. 3 for about 45 minutes. We had been on vacation and she was completely off schedule and crabby. I had a feeling that I was going to get stopped coming through the security tent.
"I have an insulin pump," I said, holding my pump up for the screener to see. A mantra I had tried and not tried each time I went through security.
"OK, come on through," she said.
I beeped. I knew it.
