I stare at the rack of magazines. The latest stars, the latest trends, the latest everything all stare back at me from glossy pages.
As a college student, I want to be in style. I want to have the latest fads and know the latest "body secrets." As a self proclaimed "fashionista", I want these magazines to tell me all that I need to dress with the world. As a diabetic, I just want a glossy paged magazine for diabetics!

I've been anxiously awaiting today for several weeks now. It's the mix of fear and excitement that can't be explained. Because today I met with my new endo and my old CDE (from the pediatric days). And today, I'm completely bittersweet about this disease.
The endo was quite amazing. She's fairly young, seems knowledgeable, but most importantly we seemed to be pretty much on the same page with this whole thing. Not only was she in the room before the nurse finished the finger prick, blood pressure, and weight checks, but she spent over an hour with me personally. A month ago or so I called and spoke to a representative from Minimed. Minimed is the company that makes the insulin pump that I use. The model I have, the 722, has the ability to read and work with Minimed’s continuous glucose monitoring system.
When I spoke to the representative, she said that her company has been successful at getting my insurance company to cover the cost of the system 100%! I told her I wanted to start the process to which she said that she would get back to me.
She didn’t.

In high school, I had an MRI and several other tests done to rule out any conditions that might be causing them. I had another MRI several years later to double check since the headaches never went away.
Because of my other health conditions, there was a time that I was really paying attention to these types of things. I soon realized that my headaches seemed to have a few specific causes. One was hormonal, which has been alleviated to none or one headache per month thanks to the birth control pill. Second was blood sugars. And third was tension headaches.
