I may write more about this on my personal blog - do check it out if you haven't already.
I have been wanting for a couple of weeks to write a post about a play I had the pleasure of taking in with my blogger friends Kerri, Julia, and Shannon. So, rather than write about the letter H, I'm going to write about Some Things Are Private . The play is showing at Trinity Repertory Company in Providence, RI, where I have the pleasure of being employed.
Live theater is a fantastic medium. What other opportunity do people have, in this day and age, to sit together in a room and watch a moment, a day, a lifetime unfold before their very eyes? I am fortunate to work for a theater that also offers the audience the opportunity to stay after the show and discuss and reflect upon what they've seen. The discussions are always interesting, funny, and thought-provoking. If you've never been and would like to go, leave me a comment, I can make it happen. (READ MORE)

It started a couple days ago -- I think Thursday or Friday. And like a dumbshit I didn't call the doctor before the holiday weekend.
I had the classic symptoms of a urinary tract infection: pain, urgency, discomfort. I didn't want to foot the bill for a trip to urgent care, especially since I already knew what I had. But I also knew the pain was getting worse and no amount of water was making it any better.
UTIs are common for people with diabetes (no I can't find a single source to back that up, but I did find mentions of it in several places when I Googled). And with my history of kidney stones I'm guessing I'm at a slightly higher risk for it.

I got an email from my boss here at dLife yesterday. (Hi, boss!) In it, she suggested maybe I give a rundown of who's who in my cast of characters.
Since I'm not quite self-absorbed enough to think that everyone already knows me, I thought I'd comply with her reasonable request. She's quite reasonable, actually, my boss. And funny. And heck, any woman who loves Eddie Izzard with the same burning fire that I do has got to have a few other redeeming qualities, right? (And if you don't know who Eddie Izzard is, get thee to Mr. Google. He's hysterical. Only don't listen at work. The man does like to swear.)
Sorry. Tangets. Another thing I'm good at, scooting down that tangent slide.
Cast of characters:
TCBIM - That Canadian Boy I Married. He's younger than me (phwoar!) and from Canada (duh), thus the acronym. (READ MORE)

In today's environment of cheap-to-the-patient pills that can cure almost anything from a hangnail to cancer, it's sometimes difficult to make significant and often-difficult lifestyle changes on account of a disease or a medical condition. Rarely is this more evident than in the public appearance of Type 2 diabetes.
