I love this time of year. As soon as we can "spring ahead" and gain that hour of sunlight in the afternoon, I get excited. Before this last Sunday it was dark soon after I got home from work which meant no Disc Golf during the week.

A while back I wrote a post about how I am not a typical gym guy. I like to exercise in non-traditional ways such as racquetball or disc golf instead of being strapped to a machine at a health club. Well now that the days are longer I can meet my buddies at the park after work for a round of disc golf. If you can throw a Frisbee then you can play this game. It is not nearly as frustrating to me as golf is. I am terrible at traditional golf.

I will admit that over the weekend we did purchase a recumbent exercise bike. Now I know this goes against what I said about traditional exercise stuff but a recumbent bike allows for some really great multi-tasking exercise opportunities that traditional equipment does not.

For instance, you cannot play Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo Wii while using a Bow Flex nor can you read a great book while exercising on an Elliptical machine. Well maybe you could but I am sure I would fall off. I can enjoy my Apple TV or watch Lost while exercising! It really works for me and that is the real key. Finding something you will actually do.

What stuff do you guys like to do that may be different than traditional exercise? I am always willing to try new stuff.

I also am not a gym nut. I own an erg (rower) at home which I use at least 3 times a week. Now with Spring sprung forward, I go on a 30-45 minute, 2-mile walk at lunch, then do 2-4 miles after work. Both help me to both get my BG down, plus also help me to lose weight. Keep it up! You can do it!

Speaking of "spring ahead", I totally forgot to change my pump clock until Tuesday, after fighting lows at basketball because my basal rate was an hour behind where I needed it!
