Each Saturday morning I head over to our local Weight Watchers office to weigh in and attend the meetings. The week was not good for yours truly. I gained and of course was not happy but what made it worse was my attitude all week and frankly for the last several weeks.
I am tired of counting. I feel like the Count on Sesame Street. "9! AH AH AH. 9 Points! AH AH AH! And 27 CARBS! AH AH AH!"
Bored? Burnt out? Both. I used to have this vigor and excitement about each meeting and now it is just a bore. Those days when everything I ate was calculated and decided on with each Saturday in mind are gone. I don't care and yet I get upset when the scale does not show a lesser weight. It makes no sense.
My very good pal decided to join this week and I am hoping his excitement will motivate me to get back on track. As of right now, I am not feeling the desire to do anything. I wonder sometimes if having diabetes makes it harder to lose weight? Not that I need another excuse though, I always seem to come up with something.
If you are interested on my weekly Weight updates, you can see them each week on my personal blog. I am lucky that most of my online friends that read those posts always encourage me when I lose or gain. Support does help me but I am in a funk right now.

Don't give up.
I have never been overweight until I started pumping and I have been a type 1 for 41 years. I now need to lose 20 lbs to be where I want to be. Your posts give me hope that it is possible. Hang in there!!!
Do not dismay, George. Everyone goes through burnout in counting with D. The added counting for WW is just another layer on top!
I have had good success whenever a partner has joined me in the persuit. Also, maybe get a little competitive with him on weight loss if you think it might help.
Hi George,
Don't worry and don't make it the most important thing. I know ever since I got on my pump I have gained weight...good control. When I was not in the best of control I was alot thinner. I have gastroparesis also so i don't over eat. Diabetics are not skinny people. :(
George -
I think we must be related! I am a type 1 diabetic and gained weight when I went on an insulin pump - although I have never been the classic slender type 1. I started WW 10 years ago May. I have done well - lost 90 pounds - agonizingly slowly but still...My health has improved tremdously - my kidney disease has even improved (I've had diabetes since 1975). I feel better, look better and still need to lose about 7 pounds just to get within my weight range - I'd like to lose 12 and get to that magical 100 pounds lost.
Anyway - I'm in the same place you are. I go every Saturday morning to my 7 AM meeting. I'm a fixture there (I am life time so that's a plus!). Sometimes I think "points, points, points - all I think about is points, my weight and...".
It's soooo worth it to do - I know this - but sometimes I just wonder...
So - I'm your sister in spirit! And if you'd like we can keep each other company via email. I'm an ear if you need one!
Lynn
