If I could do one thing the next 3 weeks, it would be a vacation from my type 2 diabetes, weight issues and actually, my health entirely. Even one day seems like it would be divine.

Warning - "food fantasies" follow.

I would eat pastries for breakfast, and have another one or two for a morning coffee break (I do love me some carbs). Perhaps a nice Eggs Benedict. And oh, yes, I would have pumpkin spice lattes until I shook from the caffiene.

I would eat homemade cream of mushroom soup for lunch, or a nice lobster bisque, full of heavy cream. Then I would take a nap, just because I wanted one, not because my blood glucose was at 200.

Homemade cookies with full-sugar cocoa and lots of marshmallows for afternoon snack.

Dinner might start with more soup - French onion with a thick slab of French bread and lots of toasted cheese on top. A thick, rare steak with a real, white, baked potato smothered in sour cream and chives might be my main entree.

Dessert, well, I can't even begin to choose. Perhaps the aptly-named Death by Chocolate, or a hot fudge sundae, or carrot cake with a thick coating of cream cheese frosting.

It sounds very good today for whatever reason. But I must drag myself back to reality and remember what I would feel like if I really ate like that.

I would feel "thick" and totally lethargic.

I'd probably have a headache, and most likely a tummy ache as well.

I would get on the scale the next morning and have gained 4 or 5 pounds which would depress me even more than the assault on my body chemistry.

It is so not worth it, but it sure sounds good today.

Oh My God, I SO hear you. I am Type 1, on a pump, but even so, I have found that I really can't eat whatEVER I want, not without screwing up my blood sugars. A pump helps, but doesn't cure, nor does it give license to eat whatever.

So, I read your fantasy with my own sounding in the back of my head. For me? (Impossible to resist listing a few things)...I'd have fruit for breakfast. Mango, bananas, Orange Juice - a HUGE glass with ice in it. When I was first diagnosed, I thought I'd miss chocolate the most, but I don't. To my surprise, I miss the freedom to eat as much fruit, drink fruit juice, and snack on dried fruit, more than anything. Go figure.

However. That's not to say I wouldn't gorge on chocolate. You betcha. Hot chocolate for breakfast. Cocoa Via bars for a mid-morning snack. Chocolate cupcakes in the afternoon. Chocolate Decadence dessert after dinner.

*Sigh*. I'd be as big as a house, but my blood sugars would be...*gasp*...NORMAL!!! How great would that be??

And I didn't even get into pasta. Don't tempt me.

Kim, you're killing me...I'd better go eat something healthy & quick before this fantasy takes over...

Yes, I figured this post would need a warning. Luckily I got it out of my system by writing it - NOT eating it all!

wow////// I thought Iwas the only one that felt like that just for one day eat whatever I like as many carbs as there to pass around but gals we can't do it lets be good but we can dream can't we right, lets take care of our bodies o.k.
