Life is fascinating to me. I truly am blown away by it. I am amazed with this world, the people in it and everything about it. Tonight I was watching a show that was very real. The show was called "Intervention". I don't normally get too caught up in television. I don't find much on TV that I can learn from or that I find really enjoyable. I like seeing things that are as real as possible. I like learning from and being around different types of people and gaining knowledge from real experiences. That is why I enjoy this website that you're on right now- they are real stories from real people. When you have diabetes, I think you see life through a different lens. You learn to appreciate the "realness" in what and who is around you. I am thankful for that gift.

Now, back to the show. It was about a man with severe alcoholism, a girl addicted to heroin, and a woman who is anorexic. These people are us. These are very serious issues that real people deal with. I was watching this show and I could see the misery, depression, and downright hurt and sorrow that these people and their loved ones are facing. It was horrible. I could hardly watch it. But at the same time I appreciated so much how this show did an excellent job of portraying life as it actually is. Not sugar coated. We can all learn from this.

In life we all face very difficult challenges. It is a fact. What I am so amazed with is how we deal with those challenges. We overeat, we starve ourselves, we smoke, we drink, we cheat, we lie, we steal, etc. We all have that in common. This website that you're on is that show that I saw tonight. Blogabetes is a very real place and we are all very real people who are connected through the internet. Blogabetes is our intenvention-our way of helping each other, the people we care about, work through diabetes. I hope that you feel how sincere I am about this. I am glad to be a part of this and connected with each of you. We have each other to learn from and that is amazing and so absolutely wonderful.

Thank you very much.

- Andy.
