Come on, everyone, sing it with me. I don't care if you're at work. Your co-workers will think you're insane. Maybe they'll send you home early.

Peanut! Peanut butter!

(clap clap)

Peanut! Peanut butter!

(clap clap)

Oh, come on! That was weak! I can barely hear you. I know you're singing it in your head. This time out loud and with a little hip hop flava. So what if your boss is one cubicle away from you. It's Friday. I'm sure he or she likes a little ,

Peanut! Peanut butter!

Extra points to anyone who added a little beatbox into the mix. Guilty (raising hand modestly). Extra, extra points for anyone who pulled out a trumpet from under your desk and went all Dizzy Gillespie on it in between verses. Guilty again.

Today is a day to celebrate. Charlie has discovered the creamy goodness of peanut butter. This is big news. He is extremely, extremely picky. The last time he tried something new and relatively nutritious was 10 months ago when he shocked us with chicken slices. Completely out of the blue, Charlie decided to construct a most heinous sandwich consisting of white American cheese, turkey and peanut butter. I gagged a little as I slid the plate toward him, though was ecstatic that he was giving peanut butter a chance. The kid won't drink water or take a bite of a hamburger, but combining turkey, cheese and peanut butter interests him. Freak!

I've been doling out spoonfuls of peanut butter to my daughter Maeve for years and I've made many a PB&J sandwich in my day. But I never needed to know much about peanut butter or view it in terms of carbs. Prior to today, my only concern was trying to scrub off the tan, sticky goatee that forms around my daughter's mouth, making her look like Sir Richard Branson.

But now with Charlie eating peanut butter, we need to take our relationship to a whole new level. I want to be more than just acquaintances. Who are you, peanut butter? What makes you tick? What are you going to do to my son's blood sugar?

So I ask all of you? The true experts.

What can I expect from peanut butter?

What's the most disgusting sandwich you or your kids have concocted?

Have a great weekend. Enjoy this peanut butter commercial from 1972. I love the look on the mom's face.
