Have you seen the new Animas pink pump? Oh man, Olivia saw that on the Children With Diabetes website and just about lost her mind. "MUM!!! LOOOOOOOK!!!! A pink pump!!! When is my warranty up with MiniMed?"

Kudos to Animas for appealing to the girly-girl market. Even though Olivia's not particularly girly, it seems that as soon as she turned 13, pink was in. Although, looking at the fine print on the site, it's a limited edition. O's pump warranty isn't up for another year, so she probably will not be getting that. Bummer. Hopefully this is a trend that continues, though, with all the pump companies. If you have to be attached to a machine, it might as well be a machine that looks cool.

I read a lot of diabetes blogs every day and a few days ago, came across a mention of Stick Me Designs. It's a new kit company. They only have two designs out right now, but they have a beta program where you can contribute ideas for new kits. I thought this was a great idea - some of the kits out there are so bulky that Olivia hates to carry them. Others are too small to hold much beyond a meter, poker and test strips. I know I'd like a kit that could also hold a cell phone and glucose tabs. I'm sure you guys could come up with a list of things you'd like to see in a kit. The beta design thing seems like just the ticket to get your needs and wants met.

I wish I could remember where I saw this company mentioned. I'll find it, I'm sure, and link to the other blog once I do.

So there you go: Two more cool diabetes things. I love it when I come across these finds. I love it that there are companies out there who get it.

I'll bet you saw it first on TuDiabetes, coz that's where I spotted it first last week.

I think I've added the site to the diabetes search engine, because I'm always looking for new diabetes sites that are worth adding.

MUM! Minimed has a pink pump too! Actually it's a "skin" that wraps her current pump. There are a bunch of skins available for folks to presonalize their pump. You could actually get one now instead of waiting for her warranty to be up.
