There are so many fantastic diabetes-related toys to choose from this holiday season for your little T1. But hurry, these toys are quickly flying off the shelves! Here are a few that will definitely be under our tree this year.

Operation (Diabetes Version)

Perform an islet cell transplant on a 47-year-old woman from Cleveland. Carefully inject enzymes to isolate islets from pancreas. One slip and you'll get buzzed as the woman's insulin pump lights up red.  It takes a very steady hand to attach islets to new blood vessels.  Watch out! Draw a "transplant rejection" card or a "blood clot" card and you'll lose a turn. Fun for the whole family! For added challenge, game comes with both the deceased donor's body and the recipient's body. $29.99

Life (With Diabetes)

The classic Game of Life takes a new twist in this new version from Milton Bradley. Go to college. Get a job. Get married. Have a baby with diabetes. Blog about it. $19.99

Jenga Syringe

Following the very popular Jenga Party Edition and Jenga Donkey Kong, comes Jenga Syringe.  I'm not exactly sure how this one got by the Department of Consumer Affairs, but I'm sure glad it did. The rules are simple: Just stack the syringes into a tower without letting it fall! Pull a syringe from the bottom to make the tower taller. Watch out! Those syringes are sharp! Jenga Syringe is not just a good game - it's good for the environment. The upcycled used insulin syringes come from people with diabetes. $16.99

Hungry Hungry Diabetic Hippos

Sure, you've played Hungry Hungry Hippos before, but have you played Hungry Hungry Diabetic Hippos? These hippos haven't eaten for six hours due to basal testing and they are starving! But wait. They can't just go hog wild. They need to count all of the carbohydrates that they consume. Game includes multi-colored marbles that represent different types of food.  If your hippo gobbles the proper amount of food as recommended by his or her endocrinologist and you are first to accurately count the number of carbs eaten, you win! Remember, a high hippo is not a happy hippo! $24.99

Just Dance Until Your Blood Sugar Comes Down

The long-awaited latest release from the Just Dance series of Wii video games is here ;  Finally a video game that literally dances away those pesky highs.

Tracks include: "I'm Goin' Down" by Bruce Springsteen; "Shuga Fix" by Alexis P. Suter; "Dropping Hard" by Electroluxx;  "Go Lower" by Tony Rocker; "I Gets Down" by Luckee Lean and many more!

Please have a safe and joyful holiday!

you actually imagined a new game of operation that includes a cadaver. i am in awe.

also, loving your song/artist names on just dance. we got JD3 for christmas and it actually does a fine job of dropping those BGs even without the appropriate song titles!
