Before you know it, it's Oct. 18 and you haven't blogged once this month. *sigh*

Here's what I've been up to:

1. At the end of last month The Mr. lost his job. So all non-essential expenses were cut. Which meant that I had to give up my food therapy and my nutritionist. Since insurance didn't cover the nutritionist, and the cost was more than $100 per visit and she wanted to meet with me at least twice a month that simply had to go. While insurance did cover my therapist, I still needed to cut expenses. I'm still employing the techniques my nutritionist gave me, though I found it easier to do so when I was still seeing her. We also chose to cut the kids' activities, which was really hard for me to swallow. Fortunately, the kids' aikido teacher waived the fee until we could get back on our feet. Also, my mom gave No. 2 money for her birthday to go toward one month of her guitar lessons.

2. The Mr. was offered a position today that he has accepted. Yay!!

3. I saw my endo last week for my quarterly checkup. My overall cholesterol dropped from just over 200 to around 130 thanks to Crestor. My good cholesterol is in the "good" range, so she didn't make any adjustments to that. My A1C, though not perfect, remained unchanged for the last nine months. Go me! Ok yeah I still need to work on getting it down, but keeping steady is better than going up in my book. She begged me to try to exercise at least 15 minutes per day.

4. I still haven't exercised, though it's constantly on my mind. I even set my alarm one morning to get up for a walk but said "Oh hell no" when it went off. Sooner or later, hopefully sooner, I'll be able to get back on that horse.

Michelle,
Sorry to hear of all your life problems. Makes it even harder to do well in the health areas. I am very happy to hear the Mr. got another job--hope the pay is same. As we live the dLife, we sometimes forget that all the problems of regular life still occur. We tend to get a double whammy! Makes it more than just twice the problem--more like five times!! (don't mean to overuse !) Sounds like you are attempting to do the best you can while life drops around you and, you know, the "best you can" is excellent. Keep at it. Don't give up. Add back the helpful things as the life problems allow. Never forget: always do the best you can. No one will expect more. --Richard
