I have a sore throat.   And I feel something, like a cold, coming.  I'm hot in a room that's not hot, clammy, and I'm tired.

I went to the gym today anyhow, all sneezy and gross.  If I'd been another gym-goer, I would have been annoyed with someone like me.  Someone spreading their germs while getting their 45 minutes of cardio and 15 minutes of weight training.

The truth is, I don't get sick all that often.  I have little threats of a cold coming or a belly ache threatening, but I usually fend it off with rest, a day home from work to sleep, water, and a little bit of cold or stomach calming medicine.

When I do get sick, though, it's usually bad.  My bloodsugars sky-rocket.  My exhaustion levels get out of control, I crash after just a few hours awake.  And cold medicine makes my stomach sick without fail, so belly trouble accompanies any head colds or coughing I've got going on.

Last week, folks came into the office with their germs, their colds, their fevers (ahem, why???).  I started heavy doses of vitamin C, lots of fluid, and even half doses of cold medicine at night.  Now, I'm thinking these tactics were not that effective.  I feel pretty awful tonight.

So, I need your healthful thoughts!  I'll continue with the physical measures here, but I'm desperate!  I really, really don't want to get sick.
