So I try to be a good person with diabetes who sees his doctor when he is supposed to. Who gets his lab work done every three months. One who checks his blood glucose level six to eight times a day. All that good stuff.

So as a pump user, I am told to order my supplies when I open my last box. That was almost a month ago and guess what I did when I opened my last box?

Yup. I went online and ordered my three month supply of infusion sets and reservoirs. I should be good to go. I pat myself on the back and wait for a conformation email to arrive.

Like a prom night flashback, I wait and wait to hear from someone while my heart sinks deeper into the "why me" realm as time ticks by.

Finally a phone call comes letting me know that my prescription is out of date. I was also told that my doctor received a fax today to renew it and all should be good. - Cue the churpping birdies.

Again. Prom night memories. Wait. Try to master Minesweeper but still do not get it and lo and behold.....nothing.

Once again I get a phone call.

"We have the new prescription." Woot! "But we need a referral from your insurance." Boo!

So I wait again and I let the very nice gentleman from the pump company know that I am down to 3 sets left and am not sure what to do. He assures me that come next week, if nothing is done, that he will send me some samples. A very nice gentleman indeed.

The weekend comes and I have to change my set. That leaves me with one extra set. I have enough medical tape around my leg that I am wearing a leg warmer on the other leg just to balance myself out!

TODAY, I found out that the order shipped TODAY and I should have it in 2 days. I am changing my set tomorrow so I hope I have no problems with it.

If I do, I am sure you will all hear about it.

One thing is for sure. With diabetes, there is never a dull moment.
