Sometimes it takes a while to figure things out with diabetes. This disease is certainly not an exact science, which is why it's so flipping frustrating sometimes!

There was an incident a few months ago with me having wild spikes high and low and then being in the pediatrician's office and thinking I was going to faint from a low blood sugar that all made me realize my tried and true infusion sites were likely burned out.

I love using my lower abdomen for a number of reasons: good absorption and the set is less likely to be disturbed by clothing. But I needed to give my abdomen a break, so I started going with my hips; however, my pants ripped out one too many sites.

So the last two sites I've tried going back to my lower abdomen. I don't know why it took me nearly a week to realize that the reason I was having such horrible insulin resistance was because of my infusion set. Eating the same breakfast I have nearly every day sent me soaring. Bolusing down highs didn't work or worked very, very slowly. Even when I ate not-so-good foods that I've had before with little issues weren't working for me any more.

So this morning I went back to my hips; however, I must have some kind of stomach bug because the highs and the resistance haven't left.  I've been doing so well and I have my next round of blood work and an A1C coming up in the next few weeks and I can't help but wonder if this bout of resistance will affect everything. Such a freaking pain!

You are right about the frustration part! The good news is that I have never had anything connected to this delightful disease stay consistent so in no time your current struggle with the erratic #'s will shift to something else. Boredom is never an issue for me , thats for sure. Have you tried using your back just above your waistline? I use an Omnipod and find it is a good place for me.
