Getting ready for work this morning and listening to music as I often do, it was hard not to notice the striking juxtaposition of what was happening in the next room and the gorgeous melody filling the kitchen air. This morning it was "Cold Water," sung by Damien Rice and Lisa Hannigan.

Cold, cold water surrounds me now

"You’re hurting me!"

And all I’ve got is your hand

"Ow! You’re hurting me!"

Lord, can you hear me now?

"I’m not trying to, Charlie. Please try not to move!"

Lord, can you hear me now?

"Wait!"

Lord, can you hear me now?

"Wait! Don’t do it there! Do it on the other side!"

Or am I lost?

"Charlie. We have to do this."

And I can’t let go of your hand

"Ow!!!!!"

"I haven’t done anything yet. Please, Charlie."

Lord, can you hear me now?

"Stay still."

Lord, can you hear me now?

"Just a sec …"

Lord, can you hear me now?

"Don’t move."

"Done."

Or am I lost?

"Owwww!!!!!!"

Carey - your mind goes into very funny places!!With songs and listening to people talk (Testing crap) you keep me laughing!
You have got to try the numbing cream before changing his site - it works great - Trev hardly feels site changes with this stuff (I am assuming your not using it?)

This made my heart ache... In a beautiful, simple sort of way.

What is the numbing cream called?

The numbing cream is called EMLA or generic is lidocaine/prilosec - my son doesn't even flinch when we site change - he also says that it feels like after the dentist gives you the nimbing shoot w/o the shot. We were introduced to it at the Barbra Davis Center - they use it before blood draws. ALso try Unisolve dissolves the bandage part of the site that sticks to skin so yo don't have to pull so much.

As soon as I saw the title of this post, I immediately heard the dulcet tones of Damo and Lisa in my head. That song is haunting, as is this post.
